Traffic's Biggest Abomination is Back in its Ghastliest Form Yet

Yep, that’s right, folks. The Toyota Prius is breaking new ground (at least trying with the 98hp it’s got) and now for 2016, it’s gone full lunchbox.

Shape looks familiar, doesn’t it? That’s because much of its styling, seemingly inspired by a somehow aerodynamic, fuel efficient LSD trip, is derived from its hydrogen fuel cell Mirai cousin, which is equally as hideous.

So given that most of us here at Oppo are full-on petrolheads, the majority of the comments i’ll receive below this post will most likely be bad-mouthing the Prius’ botched nip-tuck, but despite that inference, what do you all think? Do you think this is a step (moving) forward for Toyota, or does it look like a preschooler drew out the blueprints in art class? Let all of us know in the hate arena, I mean comments section.

And to close, I’d like to say that it’s a Prius, so I won’t bother with performance numbers, because there are none. Even after that information will be disclosed by Toyota.

They’re trying too hard with the lexus-ite angry face. I actually thought the 3rd gen prius looked pretty good, but the front of this is just awful. It’s like a chinese knockoff trying to look like a Fisker Karma and an i8 at the same time.

I love Toyota. I plan to keep my Toyota forever I love it so much. I will defend pretty much every action Toyota makes. THIS IS THE UGLIEST FUCKING THING I’VE EVER SEEN! KILL IT WITH FIRE! I hate GM with a flaming fucking passion. I think the Volt looks like a Hyundai with Paul Wall’s teeth. I would eat crow and buy the fucking Volt over this.

Toyota reeeeeally has its head up its ass with its styling. Both for Toyota/Scion and Lexus. That is an ugly car, apparently in the spirit if the Mirai. Toyota’s best-looking products anew joint-ventures, the iM sedan and FR-S/FR86, being a Mazda2 and Subaru BRZ with minor detail changes, respectively.

The Prius actually looked pretty decent before. They could have never updated it and people would be buying it for years. The new Insight it a hilarious imitation of said Prius, and the Volt I’m not rearly sure but I can tell you I haven’t seen many compared to the Prius.

With the exception of the LX/GX, I quite like Lexus’s designs. They are different and not boring, while still being exceptionally nice cars.

I just really enjoy the hilarity that people actually care that its not a pretty car. Its NEVER been a pretty car. The last gen has its charms as did the 1st gen and im sure this will too given time and non-crappy pictures, but they are all designed to meet a goal or set of goals and no where in that goal set is “look great!”
